Frequently cited as the most picturesque of Lake Garda's towns, Lazise can also claim to be one of the most laid back and relaxing resorts. Very rich in history, this is a genuinely beautiful medieval walled town which is presided over by a wonderful castle dating back to the 14th century.
As with most Italian towns and cities, life revolves around the central piazza and Lazise's Piazza Vittorio Emanuele is a medieval marvel which can be thorughly dedicated to the pleasure pastime of people watching.
The port buzzes with excitement and fishing boats and opulent yachts vie for space. Boat trips are a gorgeous way to explore the lovely lake shores with each resort having its own attractions and charms. Lazise itself is certainly not short on charm though, so if you just want to laze, graze and stroll, this is the place for you! There are marvellous little shops, great local restaurants and lots of bars and cafes to while away a balmy afternoon.
Close to the most famous theme park (possibly in all Italy), Gardaland is a huge attraction in the area as is the brilliant water park, Canevaworld.
Lazise is also within easy access of Pescheira del Garda and midway between Garda town itself, so both are a healthy walk away. Worth exploring too, the pretty town of Salo on the western shore and Riva and Torbole in the north can all be visited, so car hire is a good idea in the area although there is a bus service that runs along the east coast of the Lake.
There are no direct fligths into Lazise, but Aer Lingus operates regular flights into nearby Verona airport.
