Olhos d'Agua Holidays - This is almost a case of "blink and you'll miss it", but actually Olhos d'Agua is charming, albeit tiny. Blossoming from a minutely sized fishing hamlet, just 5 klms east of Albufeira and equidistant from Vilamoura, the resort is a good choice for families and couples who enjoy a bit of local life in their holidays to Portugal..
Being so close to two other more established towns means great diversion is never too far away for your livelier Algarve holidays. The village is very typically Portuguese and the main street continues to a wonderful sandy beach, Praia D'Agua. The arrival of a nice promenade (in 2002) has enhanced the beach enormously and pretty umbrella shaped pine trees on the clifftops wave their fronds in the gentle breeze. This is still a working beach for the fishermen who bring in their catch and upturn their colourful boats.
The proximity of Praia Falesia (virtually next door) is also an attraction here as Falesia is renowned as perhaps one of the best beaches in all of the Algarve. There are some good quality restaurants in Olhos resort (where a mean cataplana is served!) and a selection of bars, but this is not a honky tonk area by any means. Essentially, Olhos d'Agua is ideal for a relaxing Algarve holiday in quiet surroundings. The livelier resorts of Montechoro and Albufeira are close enough if you need a change of scene.
ClickandGo.com offers a wide range of hotels in Portugal from which to choose and, with direct flights from Ireland into Faro airport on a regular basis, the beautiful Algarve is easily accessible.
