Lindos

Lindos is one of our favourite areas on the island as it has retained its authentic Greek charm. With whitewashed buildings, narrow cobbled streets, a looming ancient Acropolis on the hill and a stunning sandy beach, it’s hard to not fall in love with Lindos.

Where to Stay in Lindos

Lindos still feels like a real Greek village. In the centre of the town, you’ll find apartments and smaller family-run hotels, whereas on the outskirts you’ll find bigger resorts.

3* Xenones Lindos

The 3* Xenones Lindos is in the village. It’s quirky and cute with stunning views of the Acropolis and a fantastic bar to enjoy a cold drink while you watch the sunset over it. Its accommodation is basic but comfortable and spacious and it’s only a 10-minute walk to the beach!

Faliraki

Faliraki is home to the best sandy beach on the island and the largest waterpark in Greece. It’s buzzy, filled with things to do (or not do!) and has plenty of bars, tavernas and restaurants to choose from. If you want to explore more of the island from Faliraki, there are day cruises so you can beach hop to your heart’s content!

Ialyssos

Ialysoss in Rhodes

Ialyssos was one of the most powerful ancient cities in Rhodes and in modern times, it became the original beach resort in Rhodes. Its pebbly beach is the ideal place to relax or try your hand at watersports, especially windsurfing. The old town of Ialysoss is dotted with tavernas, bars and plenty of churches, 3rd Century ruins and a Byzantine monastery.

Ialyssos has a long stretch of beach that combines it with the nearby Ixia. There is a superb range of 4* and 5* hotels along the beachfront so you’re guaranteed to find something to your liking and budget.

The 4* Hotel D’Andrea Mare Beach is our Staff Pick for Ialyssos. It’s a fantastic all-inclusive beachfront hotel perfect for families, couples or friends. It has 3 pools plus a children’s pool adorned with its own waterslide. 5* The Ixian Grand

The 5* Ixian Grand Hotel is another adults-only hotel. Staying on an all-inclusive basis, there are 3 fantastic places to eat at the Ixian Grand: Vis a Vis Main Restaurant; Milonges A La Carte Restaurant; Blue Pool Bar. Kremasti

Kremasti, only 3km from Rhodes Airport and 12km from Rhodes Town, has remained relatively untouched and authentic. The village of Kremasti has a good selection of Greek tavernas for that taste of local culture. It has a 10km stretch of beach and a medieval castle atop a hill for stunning views of the island. Kremasti is an excellent place to just relax and recharge.

As Kremasti is relatively untouched by the larger resorts, the accommodation is mostly homely 2* and 3* family-run properties – perfect to experience the legendary Greek hospitality!

2* Anseli Hotel

The 2* Anseli prides itself on being a home-away-from-home for its guests. It’s a small family-run property but has everything you need including an outdoor pool and jacuzzi, a cheap and cheerful bar and a kitchenette in the rooms.
