Your Guide to the Algarve

Beaches and Sun | | 3 minutes

With over 3,000 hours of sunshine, the Algarve’s mild weather throughout the year is a big draw for visitors. The beaches stretch as far as the eye can see with the iconic golden cliffs lining the coast. The sea sparkles blue and the beaches, filled with activities, are salubrious.

Away from the shore, the Algarve is filled with quaint towns like Carvoeiro and Alvor, bustling resorts like Albufeira and Praia da Rocha and endless things to do and see to keep you entertained on your Algarvian holiday.

What to See in the Algarve

Benagil Cave

Benagil Cave has been described as the Algarve’s most stunning and elusive sight. Visiting this cave that has been sculpted by the sea, you’re guaranteed to be awe-struck by its beauty. Nestled in the cliffs, it’s hard to get to, but you can easily go on one of the many tours from Carvoeiro, whether by boat or kayak, to experience this amazing grotto.

Carvoeiro Beach

Few beaches in the Algarve have as postcard-pretty a backdrop than Carvoeiro. Its horseshoe-shaped cove surrounded by a quaint whitewashed village that creeps up the hill makes it a stunning backdrop for your morning swim. It can get quite busy during the day, so be the early bird and catch this beach at its best before the crowds arrive.
