Holidays in Kamari
If you’re looking to completely unwind, Kamari is the place for you. Located southeast of Fira, Kamari is on the flat side of the island making it an ideal beach resort.
With a promenade filled with restaurants, cafes and bars running the length of the bay, Kamari instantly has that familiar beach resort feel. Its blue flag beach, sheltered by Mesa Vouno, is the focal point of the resort with its unique black sand and crystal clear waters.
Kamari isn’t just about the beach, with plenty of cultural and historical things to see and do. Our top three are:
Ancient Thera: Located atop Mesa Vouno is the site of Ancient Thera, one of the most important archaeological sites in Santorini with temples, theatres and ancient cemeteries (and gorgeous views!).
Wine Museum: If you’re interested in wine, this is a must-see to learn about the history and process of wine-making. You even get to taste 4 of their best wines at the end of the tour!
Cinema: Kamari is home to the island’s only cinemas and one of the best open-air cinemas in the world - Cinekamari. Cinekamari shows films in English every evening from May to October in a lush green surrounding.
Holidays to Kamari from Ireland are made all the easier with regular flights from Dublin to Santorini.
