Paris

A city that simply oozes romance - the original city of love! Paris is the city of a thousand walks and is as close to perfection as is possible for a fabulous city break holiday.

Plan your route from the top of the Eiffel Tower, saunter along the Seine past the golden-domed Invalides, the art galleries of Saint-Germain des Pres and the swooping arches of Notre Dame to drink mint tea at the Paris Mosque. Relax on the steps of Montmartre's Sacre Coeur Church, then explore the surrounding cobbled lanes. On Sunday morning, it would be criminal not to stroll the cobbles of atmospheric Montmartre, pose for a caricature sketch, then sit for coffee and Pastis at an open air cafe.

Central Paris, along the Seine, remains spectacular, but nowadays it's the outer districts that are cool. Explore the 11th arondissement for fresh designer fashion, the 10th for bohemian Canal Saint-Martin and the 19th for the up-and-coming Canal de L'Ourcq and green, cultural Park de la Villette. Take in a ballet at the glittering Opera Garnier.

See the Moliere classics you studied at school brought to life at the Comedie Francaise. Choose your cabaret - from the Gustave Eiffel designed Paradis Latin to the Moulin Rouge, birthplace of the Can Can, and feast your eyes on traditional circus at the beautiful 19th century Cirque d'Hiver.

A trip to Paris is dreamy indeed and iconic areas like the Left Bank, Jardin de Tuileries, Champs-Elysees and Arc de Triomphe are absolute must-sees on your itinerary. Visit the Louvre and Musee D'Orsay for a glimpse of the Mona Lisa (naturellement!) and world class works of art and, on the other end of the scale, wander round Pigalle for a nosey round the red Light District!

Paris can be anything you want, but as a romantic city break it is just unmissable. In fact, for business or pleasure, Paris is a city beyond compare. Once seen, never forgotten.....
