Instagram is one of the best social media platforms to find incredible travel photographs. Follow some of my best-loved Instagram accounts and get inspiration for your next holiday. I find myself checking in on my favourite travel photographers on a daily basis to see what they’re up to or where they’re jetting off to next. As well as providing a view into their awesome lives, I can escape a cold, grey day in Dublin for sunnier climes and see the world through their eyes, as they visit amazing places that fuel my never-ending wanderlust.
1. Anouska Proetta Brandon – @anouskapb
Anouska Proetta Brandon is an Irish Instagrammer based in Dublin. With a background in photography she has an eye for colour, composition and style – making her feed a dreamy collection of lifestyle and fashion shots that would make even the most well-travelled souls envious. With nearly 100k followers on Instagram, she regularly speaks at blogger conferences and holds blogging master classes to share her tips on how to make your Instagram feed as beautiful as hers (well…. one can dream!).

2. Johnny Ward – @onestep4ward
Originally from the North, Johnny is now based in exotic Bangkok – when he’s not on the road, living out of a backpack that is. The reason for this? He probably has one of the best jobs in the world as a renowned travel blogger! He travels for up to 9 months of the year and has managed to visit almost every country by the ripe old age of 32. He regularly posts photos, videos and updates on his progress, guaranteed to give you a serious case of wanderlust. With just 3 destinations to go (Yemen, Saudi Arabia and Norway), he plans to complete this amazing feat in the coming months. In 2016 alone he managed to clock up thousands of air miles visiting 30 countries, made over $200,000 writing about his adventures on his blog OneStep4Ward, set up his own non-profit charity and built a playground for children in Asia. Impressive! Follow his incredible journey on Instagram and you’ll realise that it’s possible to start out with nothing, travel the world and get paid for it. But be warned, you’ll get a serious case of FOMO every time you scroll through his amazing feed.

3. Nadia El Ferdaoussi – @nadia_dailyself
Nadia regularly writes about travel, beauty and fashion on her blog the daily s’elf , but it’s her gorgeous Instagram feed that I’m drawn to when dreaming of my next travel destination. She has spent the last month island hopping in the Caribbean and her photos are filled with breathtaking shots of luxury beach hotels, turquoise seas and tropical surroundings to die for. Whether she’s sailing in St Barts or swimming with turtles in Barbados, her holiday style is both chic and affordable – giving you great ideas on what to bring on your next big beach holiday.

4. Journalist on the Run @janetnewenham
Travel and technology journalist Janet Newenham has traversed the globe for over 10 years and her Instagram feed is filled with fun and colourful photos of her trips to far-flung destinations. She often writes about the experience of travelling solo – which is so inspirational for anyone without a travel buddy. If Janet’s story is anything to go by (she recently returned from South Africa and her next stop is Mexico), this doesn’t have to hold you back! As this is one of the top destinations on my travel bucket list, I can’t wait to see her next Instagram posts on Central America and beyond.
5. Luxury Family Travel Bloggers – @they.wanderlust
Lastly, one of my favourite travel Instagram accounts is they.wanderlust. And as the name suggests, you’ll want to book a holiday as soon as you feast your eyes on the palette of aqua, green and pink that dominates these photographs. Siobhan, partner Byron and adorable son Mason travel the world staying in top luxury properties in incredible destinations like the Maldives – showing us that family holidays can be everything you ever dreamed and more!
