Dublin, 29th December 2025

Click&Go Holidays has released their Travel Sentiment Survey for the fourth quarter of the year, revealing that of those surveyed 45% who have not yet booked a holiday for 2026, plan to do so between January and March of next year.

A survey finding also revealed that holiday prices in 2025 increased by 3% compared to 2024, similar to general inflation levels

Along with the 45% of respondents who plan to book their holidays in January to March 2026, 27% plan to book between April to June 2026. A further 13% plan to book between July and September, while just 6% plan to book between October and December 2026.

Infographic summarising Irish travel trends for 2026 by Click&Go Holidays. It shows that many Irish holidaymakers plan to book early, with a strong preference for the first half of the year. Rising prices are influencing behaviour, leading parents to consider off-peak travel and early booking to save money. Flexible payment options and low deposits are popular, and the main motivations for booking early are securing better prices, availability, and having a holiday to look forward to.

The survey also provided information about what time of year respondents plan to travel. 32% plan to travel between January and March 2026, while 38% plan to travel between April and June. A further 23% plan on travelling between July to September and 8% plan to travel in October to December. There is now a growing trend with a move away from travel in peak summer months.

In terms of the types of holidays people are booking in 2026, a significant 53% of respondents plan to go on a sun holiday, while 20% plan on going on a city break and 17% plan to go on a cruise. Regarding specific travel areas, 5% of respondents plan to go on a USA holiday and 2% plan on a Disneyland Paris holiday.

A significant finding of the survey found that 9% of respondents have already booked their holiday for next year. When asked what prompted them to book early, responses included lower prices and deals, flexible payment options, fear of missing out on availability and the emotional need to have something ahead to look forward to.

The survey also made findings about booking payments and holiday prices. 75% of respondents would make use of Click&Go Holidays low booking deposit of €1 pp. A further 66% of respondents would make use of Click&Go Holidays monthly payment plans. Additionally, 54% of parents would take their children out of school to save on holiday prices.

Paul Hackett, CEO of Click&Go Holidays said “Our latest Travel Sentiment Survey shows that despite ongoing cost of living pressures, holidays remain a key priority for the Irish public. While just 9% have already booked for 2026, we can see strong intent to travel, with almost half of respondents planning to secure their holiday between January and March 2026. With holiday prices up 3% on last year and expected to remain steady into 2026, it’s clear that value, flexible payment options and early availability are driving bookings. Our advice is to book early to ensure you have the choice of destination and accommodation, particularly for families planning to travel during peak periods.”
