Season 4 – Episode 8
Welcome back to the Click&Go Travel Podcast! This week, we’re turning up the heat and chatting all about Cancún, Mexico! And there’s some exciting news—Aer Lingus have announced a brand new direct route from Dublin to Cancún, starting 6 January 2026!
Joining Paul and Gill in studio are Mairead and Linda, as we dive into everything you need to know—from how to get there, where to stay, what to do, and why Cancún is the perfect escape from the Irish winter.
Whether you’re dreaming of white-sand beaches, day trips to ancient ruins, or planning a twin-centre holiday with NYC or Vegas—this episode has you covered.
Great episode, and the new Aer Lingus direct route from Dublin really does change things for Irish travellers — no more awkward connections through the US or Madrid. One thing I’d add for anyone planning day trips to Chichén Itzá or Tulum: the painted murals and carved reliefs at those sites are incredible, but they’re hard to appreciate in photos. I’ve started turning holiday snaps and even simple text designs into cut-ready stencils before trips, using a free spray paint stencil maker, so the kids can do themed craft projects at home while we plan. It’s a nice way to get everyone excited about the history before you’re standing in front of it. Hope the podcast covers transport options from the Hotel Zone too — that’s the bit that always trips people up.
I was lucky enough to be here. It’s a very beautiful place. I like it very much.
Great to see Cancún getting more accessible from Dublin! It’s one of those destinations that I’ve heard so much about but haven’t experienced yet. The ruins and history really intrigue me—do you think it’s worth taking a guided tour to explore the history?
