Situated in the Veneto region on the south-eastern shore of Lake Garda, the lovely town of Peschiera del Garda is often considered to be the most central resort due to is proximity to the river Po and also its location in relation to the famous theme park, Gardaland and fun water park, Canevaworld.
Peschiera del Garda is a historical treasure house with hidden gems at every turn. Dating right back to the Bronze Age, archaelogical digs have uncovered arrow heads and hunting weapons and there are also remains of a 16th century fortress.
Located only 25 km from Verona, music lovers will delight in the open air amphitheatre with lavish productions of opera classics and Romeo & Juliet fans can pay homage to romance.
Virtually surrounded by water, the area is flat and a 40 klm long cycling track skirts the lake. Perfect for walking and hiking too, the great outdoors comes into its own. Just south of Lazise and Garda town, don't forget to visit some of the other resorts along the Lake. Further north, the picturesque resorts of Riva del Garda and Torbole are worth discovering. Equally worth exploring is the resort of Salo on the west shore.
There are no direct flights into Peschiera del Garda, but Aer Lingus operates regular flights into Verona airport, approx 30 minutes away.
