Steeped in history and full of charm, Sirmione could easily vie for the crown of loveliest town on the shores of Lake Garda. The town has a maze of narrow, meandering streets and alleyways and the old Roman Castle stands towering over. The Catullus Grottos house the remains of an ancient villa which claims to have been the largest in northern Italy at the time and reputed to have been the home of the Veronese poet, Cato Catullo, in the 1st century.

Sloping hills, arable fields and fertile valleys are home to many vineyards and delicious Lugana wine is produced locally.
