Holidays in Illetas

Holidays in Illetas are quiet, exclusive and a teeny bit upmarket. Illetas is a very pleasant resort overlooking the Bay of Palma. In fact, situated only 10 km from the capital city, Palma, the resort has an enviable position with city shopping and sightseeing so close at hand. This is a Majorca holiday with diverse attributes.

As with most holidays to Majorca, one expects pretty coves and lovely beaches and Illetas has a small sandy beach sheltered by rocky outcrops. One of the nearest neighbours is Portals Nous, home to famous Marineland, and, like Illetas, is itself another upmarket residential area.

For golf aficionados, the stunning 18 hole course at Real Golf de Bendinat is close by and this simply adds to the general exclusivity, a fact appreciated by the local Spaniards who frequently holiday in the area. Illetas is certainly not the usual Spanish holiday or normal Majorca resort. Daytime is focussed on the beach and nightlife is very laid back with a choice of intimate bars and good local restaurants.

The resort of Palma Nova is close enough to Illetas also and serves well if a change of scene is on the cards. Palma Nova has a larger beach and a great selection of restaurants, pubs and music bars (just in case Illetas gets a tad too quiet!).

The diving school of Hippocampes Divers is located in Illetas, so this is the perfect spot if underwater pursuits interest you. Waters are clean and clear and just demand marine exploration - a real haven for scuba diving in a wonderful location.

Although there are no flights to Illetas, direct flights to Palma from Ireland guarantee Illetas can be accessed easily and is only a few hours away.
