I recently spent 5 days in Ibiza travelling around the whole Island. What a place! Totally underestimated and not what I expected at all. The great thing about Ibiza Sun Holidays is there is something for everyone. Ibiza has an image of being a party island but the island really has so much more to offer.
A question we get asked a lot is ‘where is Ibiza?’! The Island off the coast of Valencia in Spain and is much smaller than you might think. You can drive from one side of the island to the other in about 30 minutes!
As everyone knows Ibiza is famous for its clubs and party reputation. This side of the island really does not disappoint. Resorts such as Playa d’en Bossa and more famously San Antonio give Ibiza the clubbing image that it has.
These resorts attract huge party goers because of their amazing clubs, trendy atmosphere and fun loving crowd. The three biggest nightclubs in Ibiza would be Pacha in Ibiza Town, Space in Playa d’en Bossa and Amensia in Ibiza Town.
If you have never heard of any of these clubs then you definitely haven’t been to Ibiza before! They are the life and soul of the party scene and music lovers worldwide congregate in Ibiza clubs to see the best DJs and dance acts of the moment.
However clubbing in Ibiza isn’t a cheap night out, you will need deep pockets to enjoy a night in one of Ibiza’s finest clubs. Admission and drinks can be very expensive.
If the club scene isn’t for you the atmosphere and buzz around San Antonio, Ibiza Town and Playa d’en Bossa would definitely be enough to enjoy yourself. There are plenty of pubs and bars in each area that contribute to Ibiza’s lively reputation.
The other side of Ibiza
Ibiza does well from its party image but I was surprised by how much more the island had to offer. The north of the island is a completely different scene from San Antonio. It has amazingly green mountains and beautiful beaches which reminded me of Greece at times.
From Santa Eulalia to Port de San Miguel is a wonderful journey along the coast. This side of the island is perfect for families or couples looking to relax. You are never too far from the party scene so the island really has the best of both worlds.
There are plenty of properties in resorts like Port de San Miguel, Es Canar and Portinax that have kids clubs and entertainment to keep the younger ones busy while the older ones relax! Lots of celeb’s go to Ibiza for a family holiday, Danni Minogue travels all the way from Oz to enjoy what Ibiza has to offer.
The hotels in Ibiza are either for families or not. There is no in between! You will find out pretty quickly if the hotel is suited for kids or not. I think this is such an advantage to the island because there is no confusion on where you should go no matter what type of holiday you are looking for. The hotels will make it clear what type of crowd they want! Because of this family hotels in Ibiza are so well geared for families of all ages and sizes.
If you want a lively fun packed holiday try the Hotel Club Bahamas in Playa d’en Bossa (3star). This hotel has entertainment for kids throughout the day as well as shows for adults by the pool at night.
The Sirenis Hotel Club Aura in Port d’es Torrent (4 star) is a great family property with some good all inclusive offers.
If you are looking for a quieter more up market family get away try the Palladium Palace in Playa d’en Bossa. This is a beautiful property with direct access to the beach, two huge pools and the rooms are spread around 5 low rise buildings all over the complex. It has a very relaxing atmosphere with entertainment at one of the pools throughout the day. There is lots of space around this hotel and it almost feels like a small village. This hotel is perfect for a family who are willing to spend a little bit more of a nice get away!
Overall, Ibiza has everything. I loved the island. Whether you are looking for a fun packed sun holiday or a good family holiday Ibiza has it all. Definitely worth a visit.
