Mellieha Bay Holidays to Malta with flights from Dublin

On Malta, the advantage of a lovely sandy beach has meant that Mellieha Bay stands proud as one of the premier resorts on the island. Just over 30k north of Valletta, the historic old village of Mellieha is a delight to visit and is only 2k away. Being virtually the only sandy beach on Malta, Mellieha Bay is also the longest and the best and lays claim to some of the cleanest and purest waters along the coast.

In terms of holidays in Malta this is a very popular area for all manner of watery pursuits, diving is also a huge sport as the crystal waters offer perfect conditions to enjoy an underwater garden. The resort has good infrastructure and there are plenty of beach bars and a large selection of local and international restaurants and bar for evening. Certainly more laid back than frenzied, Mellieha Bay has an atmosphere suited to all ages.

The resort kicks up its heels a bit more in summer, but is not a mecca for wild nightlife. Close to the ferry port for Gozo, a trip to this tiny neighbouring island should be on the "to do" list. Delightfully rural and picturesque, Gozo's historic capital, Victoria is heaven sent for a leisurely lunch and a spot of lazy sightseeing and a stroll through the medieval streets.
